Tax Intake
Private. Nothing leaves your browser.

Let us turn your shoebox of forms into a finished return.

Upload your tax documents. We will read them for you, estimate your refund or balance due, and show you a few ways to improve it. Everything happens right here in your browser. No accounts. No uploads to anyone.

About you

Start with which tax year we are working on, plus the basics for your return.

Your information stays on your device. This tool never sends your data to a server. Read continues locally. When you are done, you download the packet and choose how to send it to us (client portal, secure email, or print).
Y Which tax year?

If you are catching up on both years, complete one year now, send the packet, then come back and do the next year.

P Personal details

F Filing status
Single
Married filing jointly
Married filing separately
Head of household
Qualifying surviving spouse
D Dependents

Children, qualifying relatives, anyone you provide more than half the support for. Skip if none.

Upload your tax documents

Drop in everything you have. PDF, JPG, PNG, or HEIC. We will try to read each one and pull out the numbers.

Files stay on your computer. The "auto read" feature uses your browser to scan the text. Nothing is uploaded.
U Drop files here
C Common form checklist

Make sure you have these if they apply. Not sure? Just ask.

Income and deductions

Confirm what we found in your documents. Add anything we missed. Empty fields are fine if they do not apply.

Auto read pulls in what it can find. Look at each number and correct it if your form shows something different. Numbers here drive your estimate.
W W-2 wages
1 1099 income
D Deductions and adjustments

We will use the standard deduction unless your itemized total beats it. Fill in what applies.

N Notes for your preparer

Your estimate

This is a preliminary federal estimate based on what you entered. We will confirm everything when we prepare your return.

B The math, step by step

What if we change a few things?

Slide these to see what could move your refund or reduce what you owe. Anything you set here will appear on the packet so we know what to consider.

S Scenarios
Add a Traditional IRA contribution
+$0
Reduces your taxable income. You have until April 15 to contribute for the prior year. 2024 limit is $7,000 ($8,000 if 50+). 2025 limit is the same.
$0
Boost your HSA contribution
+$0
If you have a high deductible health plan, HSA contributions are deductible. 2024 self limit is $4,150 / family $8,300. 2025 is $4,300 / $8,550. Add $1,000 if 55+.
$0
Solo 401(k) or SEP-IRA (self-employed only)
+$0
If you have 1099 income, you can shelter a big chunk in a Solo 401(k) or SEP-IRA. Estimate what you could contribute (we will work out the exact maximum).
$0
Add business miles you forgot to log
+$0
For 1099 work or business use of your car. 2024 rate is 67 cents per mile. 2025 rate is 70 cents per mile. Reduces self-employment income, so it cuts both income tax and SE tax.
0 mi
Charitable giving you have receipts for
+$0
Only helps if your total itemized deductions beat the standard deduction. Add cash and non-cash gifts you can document.
$0
Home office (self-employed only)
+$0
Simplified method is $5 per square foot up to 300 sq ft ($1,500 max). Reduces self-employment income.
0 sq ft
If married: try filing jointly vs. separately
Visible at filing
In most cases MFJ wins. MFS makes sense if one spouse has large medical or miscellaneous deductions, or for income-driven student loan repayments. Note your preference below and we will run both.
Self-employed: QBI deduction reminder
Often automatic
If you have qualified business income, you get up to a 20% deduction. ProSeries Basic handles this automatically when income is below the threshold ($191,950 single / $383,900 MFJ for 2024; $197,300 / $394,600 for 2025). We will check eligibility.
